Austin Ball'rz is an LGBTQ+ inclusive softball team that's been part of Austin's community since 2013. They've competed in five Gay Softball World Series and built a reputation for welcoming players of every skill level, gender, race, and background.
They needed a website that matched their energy. Bold, proud, and easy for anyone to navigate. The old setup wasn't cutting it. They wanted a place where potential players could learn about the team, sponsors could see the value, and members could browse photos from past seasons.
We built them a site that does all of that, loads fast, and looks sharp on every device.
What We Built
Custom Design System
Athletic branding with navy and deep purple, pride-flag accents, and Barlow Condensed typography. Softball-inspired visual elements like stitching patterns and diamond field layouts for the sponsorship page.
Photo Galleries
Season-by-season photo galleries with intelligent grid layouts that adapt to the number of images. Interactive modal viewer for full-size photos. Lazy-loaded for fast page loads.
Sponsorship Tiers
Four sponsorship levels ($250 to $2,500) presented in a baseball diamond graphic layout. Clear value propositions for each tier so sponsors know exactly what they're supporting.
Contact & Spam Protection
Contact form with Cloudflare Turnstile CAPTCHA, honeypot fields, and SendGrid email integration. Players can reach out without friction; the team doesn't get buried in spam.
Team Photo Management
Anyone on the team can submit photos from their phone. The photo gets resized, organized by year, and sent to team admins for review. Admins see a preview and approve or reject with one tap from their email. No logins, no apps, no training. Published photos show up on the site automatically.
